Blackhawk Gains EASA Approval of the PT6A-140 for the Cessna Caravan Upgrade
Waco, Texas, April 18, 2016 – Blackhawk Modifications, the leading provider of engine upgrades for turboprop aircraft, announced the continued growth of their portfolio of worldwide certified engine upgrades with the European Aviation Safety Alliance (EASA) approval of the Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-140 engine upgrade for the Cessna Caravan and Grand Caravan. The added performance and value associated with the Blackhawk XP140 Performance Upgrade continues to attract Cessna Caravan operators wisely investing in their plane’s safety and long-term value.
Jim Allmon, Blackhawk CEO and President, hails this latest approval as another example of a long-standing tradition of customer support. “I am very excited to gain EASA approval on our latest performance upgrade for the Caravan 208 and 208B. I believe the 867 SHP PT6A-140 engine will be the preferred engine for charter, float plane, cargo and private owners throughout Europe who want a bolt-on engine upgrade solution that delivers significant performance and utility improvements. The XP140 Upgrade retains many items including the existing cowl, engine mounts and exhaust which allows us to offer it at the lowest price point per unit of horsepower of any Caravan engine upgrade available today.”
“When considering all that we include – a factory-new engine and propeller, a new 325-amp starter/generator, all new smart engine gauges, a new oil cooler and new engine hoses and the resulting performance boost, it’s easy to see the appeal of the Blackhawk XP140 Performance Upgrade,” concluded Allmon.
