Aircraft Payload Extender (APE) STOL

Cessna Caravan Series

AeroAcoustics Aircraft Systems

Aircraft Payload Extender (APE) STOL

The AeroAcoustics Aircraft Systems, Inc. Aircraft Payload Extender STOL provides takeoff and landing field length reductions up to 20%.  Certified performance is provided in an Airplane Flight Manual Supplement.  Installation of the APE STOL provides operators with increased flexibility - particularly from short fields.

The APE STOL upgrade is a unique aerodynamic device attached to the trailing edge flaps.  The kit adds less than one lbs. to the aircraft empty weight and can easily be installed in several hours.  Operators can continue to fly the Caravan with the same procedures utilized before the APE STOL installation and operate at increased weights from short airfields.

The APE STOL works in conjunction with the previously certified APE III system and Cessna approved 29" tires.  If not already installed on the aircraft, the APE III system and 29" tires will be included with the kit.

APE STOL Benefits

  • Reduced Takeoff and Landing Field Length up to 20%
  • Increased Maximum Takeoff Weight from 8,000 to 8,362 lbs. for the Cessna Caravan 208 and from 8,750 to 9,062 lbs. for the Cessna Grand Caravan 208B
  • Increased Maximum Landing Weight from 7,800 to 8,362 lbs. for the Cessna Caravan 208 and from 8,500 to 9,000 lbs. for the Cessna Grand Caravan 208B
  • Easy Installation Completed in Less than Two Hours
  • STC Approved
  • Manufactured under FAA PMA
  • Over 1,000 APE Installations Worldwide

Aircraft Payload Extender (APE) II

The AeroAcoustics Aircraft Systems, Inc. Aircraft Payload Extender II (APE II) allows you to operate your Caravan at increased takeoff weights and extract maximum profitability from the best single engine utility aircraft flying.

The APE II modification is a small aerodynamic device consisting of two 16" long stall fences/strakes attached to the wing leading edge just outboard of the landing light.

The total installed weight of the kit is less than three lbs. and it can literally be installed in the amount of time it takes you to refuel your aircraft and eat lunch.

APE II Benefits

  • Increased Maximum Takeoff Weight from 8,000 to 8,362 lbs. for the Cessna Caravan 208 and from 8,750 to 9,062 lbs. for the Cessna Grand Caravan 208B
  • Easy Installation Completed in Less than Two Hours
  • STC Approved
  • Manufactured under FAA PMA
  • Over 1,000 APE Installations Worldwide
  • Optional Increased Maximum Landing Weight on Water from 7,800 lbs. to 8,000 lbs. for the Cessna Caravan 208

Aircraft Payload Extender (APE) III

The AeroAcoustics Aircraft Systems, Inc. Aircraft Payload Extender III increases the maximum landing weight of the Cessna Caravan 208 and Cessna Grand Caravan 208B.  Installation of the APE III provides operators with increased flexibility - particularly on short haul routes favored by the Caravan.

The APE III modification primarily consists of replacing the existing  life-limited main landing gear axle with an improved, high-cycle axle.  The kit adds less than two lbs. to the aircraft empty weight and can easily be installed in several hours.  Operators can continue to fly the Caravan with the same procedures utilized before the APE III installation.

The APE III works in conjunction with the APE II system and Cessna approved 29" tires.  The APE II equipped Caravans provide an increased maximum takeoff gross weight.  If not already installed on the aircraft, the APE II system and 29" tires will be included with the kit.

APE III Benefits

  • Increased Maximum Takeoff Weight from 8,000 to 8,362 lbs. for the Cessna Caravan 208 and from 8,750 to 9,062 for the Cessna Caravan 208B
  • Increased Maximum Landing Weight from 7,800 to 8,362 lbs. for the Cessna Caravan 208 and from 8,500 to 9,000 lbs. for the Cessna Caravan 208B
