King Air 350 XP67A Milestone Update | June 2017

King Air 350 and 350ER XP67A Engine+ Upgrade 6.29.17

The XP67A Engine+ Upgrade STC program presses forward toward certification. If you’ve missed our previous Milestone Updates, you can view them all by clicking here.

Key developments over the past month include:

  • We have encountered some scheduling conflicts with the FAA over the past several weeks as a result of their underfunded travel budget. To resolve this and to expedite the STC issuance, we have been flying our King Air 350 to their office in Ft. Worth every morning so they can perform their customary and random performance verification tests of the XP67A.
  • Everything has passed with flying colors.
  • We were hoping to have the STC by June 30, but this date will inevitably be delayed. The issuance of the STC is imminent.
  • We will have our King Air 350 on display at the EAA AirVenture show in Oshkosh at booth #307. We will continue to offer the pre-certification discount through the end of the show.

It’s remarkable to consider that we announced the XP67A program at Oshkosh almost one year ago and have completed all the engineering requirements (drawings/flights/conformities) to put us in a position to qualify for the STC. It is not an easy thing to do and is a real testament to the hard work, creativity, exceptional planning and dedication of our entire team of experts here at Blackhawk. It will be an amazing accomplishment to display our 350 at Oshkosh along with the STC.

Phase 2 of our XP67A program will be the certification of the King Air 350ER at 16,500 lbs. The airplane is in our hangar – pictured above – and ready to have the new engines installed. Thank you for your continued interest in this program – stay tuned!
