Available for A90, B90, C90
The Blackhawk XP21 is a simple, bolt-on upgrade for the King Air A90, B90 and C90. XP21 replaces existing PT6A-20 and -20A engines with current-generation PT6A-21 engines. These modern engines run cooler and produce more power at altitude than the original power plants. Lower overhaul and maintenance costs, coupled with an ample supply of low- to mid-time engines, make the Blackhawk XP21 a smart, budget-friendly option for your King Air 90.

What is the price?
$25,000 for the STC paperwork, flight manual supplement and installation instructions. Please call for current engine availability and pricing.
Can I put the airplane on charter?
Yes. In fact, due to cost considerations, many charter companies prefer this upgrade as a viable alternative to the full Blackhawk XP135A engine upgrade.
How much more does the upgrade weigh?
No weight change for the PT6A-21 engine.
Are there any modifications to the airframe?
Only on the older, pre-1975 King Air C90s because the cowl must be cut to allow for a larger exhaust stack. An after market exhaust stack must be purchased at an additional cost. All other aircraft require no airframe modifications.
Can my shop do the installation or does Blackhawk have to do the installation?
Blackhawk does not do installations. Although the installation is basically an engine change, we have found that customers save time if the work is performed at any of our approved installation facilities worldwide. They have the experience to complete it faster and with the higher exacting quality setup that we demand. See our distributor list for an installer near you.
